About Paul Duffield

I’m a comic creator, illustrator, animator and designer currently working out of Oxford UK. You can see a full range of my work in my portfolio, and a list of some of the clients I’ve worked for here.

Art and story are my passions, and the places they meet are the places I love most: comics, animation, video games, board games and all other forms of visual storytelling (not to mention every other kind of storytelling and art).

I’m currently working on a project that’s very close to my heart: my new webcomic, The Firelight Isle. I’m also helping out part-time at The Phoenix Weekly Story Comic as a designer, in-house illustrator and general busybody.

Of my previous projects, I’m best known for my art on Freakangels, an 864 page webcomic written by Warren Ellis, and for The Tempest, a manga-influenced adaptation of Shakespeare’s play. I’ve also worked with a diverse range of other clients on various projects (see a detailed list here) and my work has received a number of awards, including two Eagle Awards for Freakangels, first place in Tokyopop’s first Rising Stars of Manga UK, and the International Manga and Anime Festival grand prize.

If you’d like to get in touch with me, you can drop me an email, or I can be found hanging around my usual social media sites: twitter, tumblr, deviantart, inkblazers and, very occasionally, G+.

If you’re interested in supporting my work, you can also pledge to my Patreon campaign for as little as $1 a month, and get perks for doing it, including seeing the latest pages before they’re posted on the site!
